Insane Sea Horse

I came upon this picture of an interesting sea horse but I have no idea what it’s called or where it can be found. Either way, it is absolutely amazing that something like this even exists on our planet!

Leafy Sea Dragon, a variety of pipefish. Australia & New Guinea area native if I recall correctly. They’re over a foot long and quite spectacular as they drift along using those fins to imitate seaweed.

That is a weedy sea-dragon, Phyllopteryx taeniolatus

This is a weedy sea dragon. It’s found off Australia. It’s just about the only marine Australian life that won’t kill you. It looks like that so it can hide in seaweed from all the sharks, crocs, jellyfish, stingrays, seasnakes, stonefish…

    Great website btw.

Martin Bizarro, Australia isn’t dangerous, well at least not most of it–the species in the ocean are no poisonous until you get to around 1500m depths and the snakes really are only a problem inland. If you leave them alone they wont hurt you and you can probably outrun them anyway. You see?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
